2014 ‘Reverberations’ at TRACE Architectural Musings Exhibition - Mundaring Arts Centre

Our project established a new mnemonic device to provoke sensations and feelings which reverberate with the spatial qualities of our architectural work and with other things, places and circumstances. We produced a small room lined by three reflective, coloured panels that create an atmosphere of luscious material presence - the type of atmosphere to be found in our original building works.  The original buildings are not replicated; rather a specific spatial sensibility is created. These panels are combined with a series of images that describe exemplar buildings referred to during the design process. The panels and images act as a new ‘perceptual device’ drawing observers into the spatial qualities of the original works. Observers were able to see what architecture offers, but most critically, it allows observers to gain a direct sense of the feeling of architecture; that it acts in sensorial ways –the fundamental argument of our work.
